  3. Top 4 Gastro Pub Trends
gastro trends

The Hospitality industry is always adapting their menus to meet the tastes and interests of consumers. As Gastro Pubs reopen, we are likely to see new and innovative food trends being integrated into menus to attract consumers back into the dining experience.

We have put together the Gastro Pub menu trends that we think may feature this year:-

Plant-Based Foods

Food Manufacture have stated that " Plant-based diets have become more attractive to consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic and in particular to a quarter (25%) of young British millennials, new research from Mintel revealed". If consumers continue to seek out healthier and cleaner lifestyles, we can predict a drastic change in Gastro Pub menus to cater for consumer needs.

Street-Food

Due to the pandemic, we have seen a rise in takeaway foods, this has created a renewed surge for dishes that are suitable for eating in and out with " 47% of consumers saying they are planning to eat more street food in the next 12 months" according to Discover Global. Panella London is ahead of the trend as the Sicilian Gastro Pub specialises in authentic street-food, perfect for consumers who are after the 'eating out' dining experience.

The Classics

A reinvention of "The Classics" is predicted to be integrated onto our Gastro Pub menus as we revisited some of our favourites during the pandemic, a report indicates that "76% of the nation cooked a traditional style dish during lockdown, and traditional British cooking was the most popular cuisine throughout lockdown (31%)" Parlour Kensal is already serving up 'The Classics' as the all-day Gastro Pub dishes up a menu of contemporary British Food and Craft Beer.

Provenance

Consumers are more inclined to buy locally, supporting independent businesses in their villages, towns, cities, and countries due to the pandemic. As Gastro Pubs reopen, they will be looking to source local or own grown produce, adding value to their dishes and overall dining experience. A survey showed "35% claimed finding restaurants that offer locally sourced foods is very important to them. Among the 500 respondents, supporting their local, independent restaurants remains essential."
