Wearing chef clothing is one of the symbols of the culinary world & we know there is a real satisfaction for a chef in putting on a jacket...

As hospitality prepares to reopen in England this week, many chefs will be getting their chef jackets ready to put back on. Whilst we know some of you have been wearing a chef jacket during lockdown, for other chefs it may have been many months since you last wore one. Imagine how it will feel as you excitedly press your jacket and wear it, ready to go and cook for your customers once again. The thought makes us feel really proud to be part of the hospitality industry, which has shown such resilience, determination, and creativity during lockdown.

Chef welfare will be top of your priority list as you prepare to reopen, and your team need to feel comfortable and safe. Wearing chef clothing not only protects a chef from spills, burns and cuts, it is actually one of the symbols of the culinary world. It shows consumers how professional the hospitality industry is, and we know there is a real satisfaction for a chef in putting on a jacket.

As you return to your workplace over the next few weeks, we'd love to see photos of the first day you and your team put your chef jackets back on. Take a photo and celebrate that moment and let's show everyone how special and talented chefs are. Tag us in the posts using @bunzllockhart and we'll be sharing as many as we can to celebrate the reopening of hospitality.

Take a Look At Our Brigade Chef Clothing

Which style of jacket will you be wearing?

For those looking to buy new chef jackets over the coming months we are putting the spotlight on some of our favourites here at Lockhart. Our team are always happy to help advise you on what's best for your team but here's a little taster.

  1. Widely regarded as the most comfortable and hardwearing chef's jacket is this one by Brigade Chef Clothing. It is available in short and long lengths. If you follow the National Chef of the Year competition this year, that's the jacket you will see the finalists wearing. It can be washed at 60 degrees so is perfect for getting rid of germs.
  2. For those who prefer black chefs' jackets, Brigade also do the same jacket in this colour. This has the same great qualities as the white version with a double-breasted front and button fastening, along with a sleeve pen pocket and stand collar. This jacket will make all your kitchen staff look professional and smart.
  3. For the female chefs, we offer the same options of a long or short chef jacket and in black or white. All the Brigade Chefs Jackets are available in a triple pack making them fantastic value for money.
  4. Another popular range at Lockhart is the Sharp Classic Chef Jacket. It provides a contemporary new and modern look. This jacket has been developed with a 3D mapping idea of the body for the ultimate ease in movement.
  5. The Sharp Chef Outfitter Military Jacket is made from a hardwearing poly/cotton twill with CoolMax side panels. You will find this jacket is a perfect mix of performance and design. It's got a single front with military buttons.
  6. Those who have sustainability at the top of their agenda may be interested in our CCS jackets made from recycled plastic bottles. If you watched last year's National Chef of the Year final at The Restaurant Show, we revealed this innovative product there with our Chefs Against Plastic Waste campaign. You can read more about it here.

Whatever equipment needs you have during these first few months of opening, our team is on-hand to help you. We'd like to wish all chefs the best of luck as you return to hospitality, let's show the world how amazing you are.
