The Master Cutler Claude Dozorme has been making specialist cutlery since 1902 in Thiers, the French cutlery capital set in the heart of the Auvergne. Passing the skills and craftsmanship down the generations the Dozorme family has earned a reputation for innovation, integrity and quality, manufacturing all its products in France. There are 2 main styles: the classic Laguiole and the more contemporary Thiers. Laguiole derives its name from a small village in France where a pocket knife design for migrant cattlemen was conceived. This pocket knife with a bee motif and a curved handle grew in popularity and Dozorme was one of the first to produce the fixed blade version for the table. The design was never protected so there are many versions of variable quality.
